Comfortable in Our Corners – All of Them…

Comfortable in my corner is simply observations made about places and experiences that make being alone feel like being at home.

Spending time alone isn’t always a statement. Sometimes it’s just life.  Sometimes it’s a choice and sometimes it’s both. No matter how you arrive at it, being on your own means finding ways to feel rooted – even when everything around you is moving fast.

That’s what Comfortable in My Corner is about. It’s not about hiding away or waiting for someone to join you. It’s about discovering spaces that make you feel good in your own presence. The kind of spots that seem to stick with you after a long, hard week. A unique smell that triggers a beautiful memory. A place that feels peaceful – giving reassurance that everything’s as it should be. You notice that you can breathe more easily here. There’s no doubt in our minds when we find our corners .

this blog is where I lay down the moments that shake me loose from the safety of my corner – the feelings, fleeting noticings, and unexpected turns of life that refuse to leave quietly. When I’m unsettled, my mind and soul spill over in ways I can’t always name, yet they land here. I write to see if my perceptions echo in someone else’s world, or if they’re mine alone. I have no map back to comfort, no neat way to restore the calm. But in writing, I find a small thread to hold onto.

These aren’t just recommendations. They’re invitations to take yourself somewhere nice. To sit without needing to talk. To enjoy a place so much you might bring someone else one day – or maybe not.

In every city, even your own, there are little corners that make everything feel okay again. A booth at a bakery that always gets the light just right. A quiet gallery you can walk through at your own pace. A trail, a tea shop, a bookstore where time goes at just the perfect pace.

In this blog, I’ll share everyday discoveries – thoughts or happenings that have stopped me in my tracks and hopefully make you think too.

This blog is about spaces & places & life. The ones that help you feel at ease, welcomed, and whole – no matter where you are. When you start to feel comfortable in your own corner of the world, alone but not lonely, everything else in life gets a little bit easier.

  • Riding on The Edge of Comfort

Real fear is not something you simply conquer, defeat, or leave behind. I don’t think it works that way. Real fear makes your body shake. It makes each breath more shallow – at a time when you need air the most. True fear is an incredibly uncomfortable weight to carry. Maybe the worst part, is…

  • She Made Space for Herself To Nap

She made space for herself –on purpose. Every color, every curve, she created intentionally. She decorates it for herself.Soft things, low light, candles. Her corner is always quiet, and it always speaks to her – draws her in.She made it that way. No judgment. When she returns, She’s always better. Always stronger. I believe in naps. I believe…

  • The Weight of “No”

A word this small shouldn’t feel so big.It shouldn’t carry this much weight, but it does.It often sticks around long after you allow yourself to say it out loud.We fear it, wish we were never confronted with it. It feels like rejection –like letting someone down.Like choosing yourself and fearing what that makes you.We try…

Home isn’t just a place – it’s a mirror of your soul. The choices you make in curating your space are more powerful than you realize. Every piece you bring into your home should reflect you – not a trend, not what impresses guests, not what a magazine says is “in.” Your home becomes you. What surrounds you…

  • Adorned: Jewelry as Expression, Intention, and Art

From the beginning, we’ve decorated ourselves with jewelry. Whether a bold cuff, a delicate chain, or barely noticeable little studs – jewelry has power. It can finish a look, brighten up a face, and more than anything, it shares a piece of who you are, or who you want to be. It’s artistic, symbolic, emotional.…

  • The Gut Laugh

There’s nothing like a true gut laugh. They come suddenly, uncontrollably – there’s something sacred about them. • Light is So Much More Than Brightness

Light is far from just brightness – It completely sets the mood and tone. I like my corners dimly lit. I like flying at night, when the cities below look like a sea of stars. I won’t eat at a restaurant where the lights aren’t set just so. Light can both quiet a space and…
