Some Days, We Just Look Better

You know those stretches – days, weeks, sometimes a few good months – when your hair just works. Your skin has some weird glow to it, your face looks softer – maybe even a little younger. No, it’s not Botox, it’s just you in a good “phase”. Do we all have this?

We try to catch ourselves in different mirrors so we can confirm it’s really how we’re looking these days. We need to rule out that we’re not just seeing ourselves in one of those “lying mirrors” – the ones that shave off both pounds and sunspots we know haven’t gone anywhere. We love these mirrors, even though we know the truth.

There’s nothing major going on. You didn’t start a new serum or lose 10 pounds. You just look better. And it feels so good. You walk differently, talk differently, most importantly feel so good in your skin – literally.

Then, of course, it flips.

You wake up puffy, or dull – like your face, skin, body, just gave up overnight. Suddenly nothing fits right. Your skin looks gray, your hair looks like hay, and you have absolutely no idea why.

We all go through it. The good waves, the off ones. No warning, no control.

But when it’s good? God, it’s nice.
